Field Service Manager

Location: Tucker, GA

50Floor, Inc. is looking for a customer oriented Field Service Manager.  This position will be in the field 80%+ of the time inspecting in-progress flooring installations and post-installation quality evaluations, conducting installer compliance audits, and investigating flooring repairs.  The primary objective of this role will be to improve customer satisfaction and minimize after installation repairs through ensuring installations meet client’s specifications and company’s standards. 

The perfect personality fit for the Field Service Manager role will possess strong “people skills” with the ability to sell/persuade, be self-directed, as well as possess good judgement and independent decision making.  Extensive flooring experience is required; the ideal candidate will have a mixture of experience in flooring sales or direct client facing customer service, and installation or project management.

Responsibilities: 

  • Visit in-progress installation jobs to ensure company and customer requirements and expectations are being met.
  • Conduct inspection of in-progress installation and/or repair investigations.
  • Proactively oversee installer’s job sites to inspect work quality and ensure adherence to company standards.
  • Lead and manage installers regarding company standards to provide excellent customer service and provide installers job feedback.
  • Identify installation defects through inspection and remedy minor defects by organizing immediate repair to avoid customer impact.
  • Oversee the Installation Department staff as well as the recruitment, development and supervision of third party flooring contractors. 
  • Call customers and successfully identify solutions to installer issues

Skills Needed: 

  • A self-starter who can work independently and manage shifting priorities or demands
  • Installation or project management experience with strong leadership skills
  • Highly efficient and organized, with good problem-solving abilities
  • Professional demeanor
  • Customer oriented approach with great interpersonal skills and verbal communication

Requirements: 

  • 2+ years of flooring industry experience; must have experience with sales/customer service and installation
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent; college coursework preferred
  • Bi-lingual fluent English/Spanish speaking is a plus
  • Current valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance
  • Solid basic math skills with ability to accurately calculate quantities
  • Create detailed material take-off through field measurements or prints and diagrams
  • Inspect flooring to detect minor visual, level, or textural differences
  • Must be able to: Walk multi-level residential dwellings including walking stairs, drive up to 40 hours per week, work actively in the warehouse and lift up to 50lbs.
