Sales Manager

50Floor has an exceptional Sales Manager opportunity for a professional with the “right mix” of experience and charisma to source, train, and motivate contract sales reps to succeed in a commission-driven flooring sales environment.  Our Sales Manager will be challenged to build, develop and lead a team of up to 30 contract sales reps with an expectation to drive sales of over 2 million per month. 

Not just anyone can fill this role – to succeed, you must be experienced training in-home sales strategies preferably flooring, have a background within the home improvement industry, familiar with “one call closing,” and have a track record of achieving goals to impact revenue growth.  

To be successful in this role, you will have all the experience plus be highly articulate, a natural leader, energetic, and driven.  The perfect candidate will thrive in a competitive bonus-driven environment, have extensive knowledge to build diverse sales training, and be skilled at developing sales reps to excel.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Recruit, build, and manage a strong sales team of up to 30 contract reps to grow revenue.
  • Drive team sales volume of over 2 million per month through training successful sales strategies, leadership, positive reinforcement, and product knowledge development. 
  • Conduct classroom and field training sessions, using a combination of established and self-developed techniques, behavior modeling, team exercises, and visual materials.
  • Provide continuous support throughout the various stages of the hiring, training, developing, re-training, and maintaining of new and tenured Sales Reps. 
  • Deliver persuasive and motivating sales presentations to groups and individuals in a training or customer sale environment.
  • Manage all leads within the designated timeframe in order to exceed company standards for quality, success, and timeliness.
  • Meet monthly goals through the ongoing development and implementation of a strategic sales and individual development plan.
  • Achieve expected team close ratio targets ranging from of 40% or better. 
  • Track representative training and sales performance; pro-actively create improvement plans and provide coaching, guidance and direction to foster long-term success.
  • Identify and communicate gaps in training by making recommendations, developing and sharing new approaches and techniques with Sales Director.  
  • Train and adhere to all company compliance and guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Promote retention and minimize attrition through relationship building and one on one coaching efforts.
  • Pro-actively pursue continuing education including adult learning principles, coaching skills, sales training concepts, customer service and product and service training specific to the line of business being supported. 


Skills Needed: 

  • Possess extensive knowledge of sales psychology with ability to successfully train others on concepts.
  • Understand aspects of personal psychology and group dynamics.
  • Strong knowledge of customer service, sales and management principles.  
  • Superior negotiation and active listening skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset; independent, energetic thinker a must.
  • Skilled at interpersonal communication and training in both customer and team relationship building.
  • Exceptional public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Superior oral and written communication. 
  • Successful track record hiring and retaining skilled teams.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in sales training and/or education. 
  • 3+ years of in-home sales experience required.
  • 2+ years of selling within the home improvement industry; flooring preferred.
  • Proven track record of meeting sales goals and positively impacting company revenue.
  • Bachelor’s degree or educational equivalent preferred.
  • Reliable transportation – Travel up to 75% within assigned territory.
